Things You Should Know About Minimalist Wrist Watch

By Sally Delacruz

In the modern world where everything happens at neck breaking speeds, time is the most important thing of all. Multitasking was conceived by the new generation in an effort to beat time. Human beings today live in a world where there is so much to do yet there are lesser hours to get it done.

Time is indeed of the essence. Though it is intangible, humans somehow get a grasp of how it works through the witty invention that is called a watch. There are many different kinds of watches. Some are mounted as wall clocks. There are also those worn on the wrist such as the hip minimalist wrist watch. There are also digital ones that display only the exact time in hours and minutes, and the more traditional one that features hands ticking around a face.

Wristwatches have not really caught up on public until the year 1868. Back then people were not really open to the idea of wearing one due to the popularity of pocket watches. Now it is considered a wardrobe by many. There are even some people who just do not feel right if they can not wear one on their wrist.

Before the creation of analog clocks, people learned how to tell time with the clever use of natural telltale signs. People from way back made use of the shadows by the sun in an instrument better known as the sundial. These contraptions that are worn around the wrist only became popular during the year 1868. Since then, wristwatches rose to fame and never looked back.

Then they became fashion statements. Small clocks were fastened on to bracelets and became popular with the women. It was such a revolution back then, and the wealthy ladies rushed off to acquire the newest fashion trend that combined the clock and the bracelet. This started the regard for wristwatches as an article of jewelry.

The men only wore their clocks on their wrists during the war. They paid more emphasis to the pocket watch and dismissed the wrist type as only suitable for the ladies. But when they got in the way during warfare encounters, more males strapped their pocket watches on their wrists with leather straps.

Afterward, wristwatch types were already considered as for both sexes. Everyone saw the need to have one, so watch makers started mass productions. To have greater profits some makers produced bejeweled collections that are aimed only at the elite. These watches had the best leather bands and even had shiny stones as decorations.

Now, they are also considered as gift items. They are common graduation gifts. It can also be given as birthday presents, even anniversary tokens.

Even with the rise of modern gadgets, people simply can not part away with the good old wristwatch. Phones may have clocks, but there will be occasion where whipping them out is inappropriate. Phone models will also come and go, but a good watch stays forever. You can even pass it on to future generations.
