Marrying Like a Celebrity

By Richard Barker

Ever dreams of a monumental wedding that makes you and everybody present feel a bit like they're movie stars? Well, you can take some hints from Red Carpet runners in where, how and when you set up your significant event.

One good example is the destination wedding. As the name implies, this type of rite happens somewhere meaningful to you, or a place that provides a great backdrop for your wedding photos. Tropical beaches and grand castles come straight away to mind. The only struggle with destination weddings is making certain that the guests you most desire present can afford to come to your chosen local (and most likely get lodging too). Do your analysis on airfare online and present the idea to those expecting to attend and see where it takes you. Even Disney makes a great destination wedding - you need not plan something over the top.

Another way to make yourself feel like a celebrity is by having a well-known Fairy Godmother in your wedding party. This is someone (or a few someones) who knows the easiest way to handle everything from getting grease on your wedding dress, to putting that one hair back into best location. When you want to look your best and have far less to consider on your big day, this type of advisor is a total dream.

A 3rd trend in celebrity weddings that could actually save your money is a pre-wedding gathering. This is a less formal affair than a reception, typically attended by people going to the walk through, but that list could be expanded to people who you might not invite to the reception due to space. Think light finger fare so everyone can socialise simply. A meeting like this regularly does a lot to soothe any hurt feelings too. This is a perfect chance to hire a photograph booth and have a little down time before the important day.

Still hunting for something with a splash but also that is brilliant fun? How about including your fur pets in on the wedding? The sole care here is that your pet must be well trained and ready to integrate into your plans without eating your cake or jumping on guests.

Speaking of cakes, the celebrity trend in everything looks to be 'bigger is better ' - tall cakes, or unique designer cakes are all the rage. These are supposed to create the 'wow ' factor, but that's also the word you can use when you get the price quote!

On a rather more demure level, perhaps something that is ecologically friendly pulls your attention. Serve local, farm fresh food at your reception. Offer organic and vegan options. Think natural, replenish-able but still stylish.

Actually any of these ideas can turn your wedding into one that is desirable by folks in the spot light. What's most critical is that it reflects you and your relationship brilliantly.
