I heard a friend of mine who lives in Los Angeles post something on Facebook recently about a party he went to where everyone was required to wear funny tshirts. I was instantly intrigued, because that honestly sounded like a really fun way to get people interacting at a party. There is an instant common ground for everyone to talk about. "Where did you get your shirt?" "Oh, your shirt is so funny!" I sent him a message asking him the details about how the party was put together, and it all turned out to be quite simple.

Do not be deceived by the simplicity of the name, though...because your guests hopefully will be. Everyone has to find somewhere on the Internet, or in their own wardrobe, a funny t-shirt to wear. They are required to wear some kind of funny tshirts to the party, hence the name. What they do not realize, however, is that each person will be issued a green card and a red card at the beginning of the night. The green card can be used to demand that someone has to swap their shirt with you. The red cards are used to block the swap. When any card is used, it has to be given to the target of the trade or the block, even if your trade was blocked.

The moment when the whole social dynamic of the party gets flipped upside down is when all the beautiful folks at the party run out of red cards and the t-shirt swapping starts taking place. The very second that people realize that they can watch gorgeous people take their shirts off, the green cards start flying everywhere. Watching fat people trying to squeeze into small shirts is also pretty hilarious, too.

Having plenty of alcohol at people's disposal certainly facilitates the trading of funny t shirts. When people get a few drinks in them, they have a tendency to stop worrying about how silly they look. Another good thing to point out is that hot girls really enjoy being hot girls. They like showing their bodies off too, especially if they put a lot of time and effort into making that body look incredible. After a few beers, these girls are more than willing to make a room full of guys appreciate what those funny t-shirts are hiding.

This funny tee shirts party idea is just for laughs, of course. You have to definitely make sure that people watch themselves and don't get to hands-on with the girls. Nothing will ruin everyone's fun like some drunk jerk putting his hands on some lady. The idea is for everyone to have a great time with each other, have a few laughs at the chubby guys who are trying to put on little girls' shirts, and to facilitate some harmless flirting. To me, that sounds like what an awesome party is all about.
