How To Wear A Turban In A Simple Way

By Ines Brennan

A turban is an important part of the life of any Sikh woman or man. In Sikhism, turbans are special gifts from their supreme Guru. These are projective identities that convey grace and royalty for individuals who have reached higher consciousness. These signify infinity and real commitment to their religion. Turbans are inseparable to anyone's everyday life. There are several ways how to turban but regardless of how these are worn, nobody can reprimand anybody for a chosen style. Provided that morality and spirituality are clearly manifested, then that will not create a problem. Here is how to do it is the simplest way.

First is to put on a perfect fitting turban cap. For some people, this is pretty insignificant but this can make the fabric particularly manageable when tying around. Also, this cap can keep the stray wisps of hair entirely hidden when finished.

After the cap is fixed, one should take the piece of fabric with width that is about twenty yards and length at fifteen yards. This has be laid on the head. There should be about eight inches of the fabric left for this is going to be used as tail below the back neck.

To firmly anchor the cloth, the wearer should put his hand, particularly the left, against it. Wrapping continues with both hands. And while the right hand goes in a circular motion, the left hand controls the parts of the headdress.

Wrapping goes on a horizontal motion while circling around one's head. It must be done in this way until the circle is a circumference of one's head just like tightening a sphere in a circle in order that the cloth never slides down easily.

Once the fabric has already gone around, the wearer must start tilting this closer until it is almost done in a vertical manner. The last two feet should be wrapped horizontally all through the head. It will keep everything together the moment is tucked under previous wraps.

However completed, it is still half-done. The headdress by this time is still low over the wearer's forehead. It is necessary to take the headdress and have it tilted until the wearer's forehead becomes visible. Once done, the end must be tucked very carefully. The wearer may add colored fabric at the end to achieve some color variation or a sense of style.

Turbans can somehow be experimented. They may be pretty sacred but they could be worn fashionably if a person wants to. Turbans are the Sikhs robes of honor. Hence, it is just not right to have these underdone for these signify the Muslims' social lives as well. Turbans are important to anybody who holds firm to the standards of their religion and culture. In fact, Muslims only remove these when they are mourning for the death of the people they hold so dear.

Sikhs from different nations have their ways on how to turban but this one is the simplest but fashionably acceptable. Then again, as long as moral values are not compromised, people can wear in accordance with how they wish to it be.
