What To Do To Prevent Acne Inflammation

By Alan Bradd

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions that occur when dead skin cells and oil mix and block your pores. It is common among teenagers, although it is sometimes spotted in the early stages of adulthood. Some of the symptoms of acne include pimples, black heads and white heads, and occurs mainly on the face.

One of the best ways to prevent it is to ensure that your face is always clean by washing it twice every day. Cleaning the face everyday helps to remove impurities, dead skin cells and oil on the face. When cleaning your face, treat it kindly by using a light cloth or bare hands to wash, warm water and some gentle soap. Always rinse and dry using a clean towel.

Because of the drying impact of this skin condition, it is important to moisturize your face using a moisturizer. Make sure that you select the right moisturizer when you are shopping that minimizes dryness and prevents the skin from peeling. There are moisturizers for dry skins, oily skins, or a combination of the two.

For acne purposes, it is normally advisable to avoid using too much make up such as the powder, blush or wearing foundation. If you do, you should wash it out every night before bedtime. The chemical composition of some of the cosmetics can cause emergence of pimples and irritation on the skin. When buying make up, always look for the ones written noncomedogenic as these cannot cause acne.

The fragrances, oils and gels that you apply on your hair can cause blockage of sweat pores when they get to the face. It is important to avoid using these too. A good substitute would be a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Avoid getting the oil on your hair from reaching your face by keeping it as far away from the face as possible.

Try not to touch your face every once and then. Touching your face often risks the probability of spreading bacteria as well as irritation on the skin of a person with acne. If you notice pimples on your face, do not pick or pop them. Instead, use proper treatment to prevent scarring and infection.

The sun is also a major factor for the inflammation of acne. You should avoid intense sunlight when you are outdoors, or buy protective clothing such as long pants, long sleeved shirts, and a hat to prevent the intense rays from the sun from reaching your skin. You can also use sunscreens labeled noncomedogenic when you are in the sun.

Exercise everyday to help your body perform well. Exercise has many benefits to the body and brain such as improving the basal metabolic rate and general function of the body organs. Be cautious when exercising by wearing light clothes and avoiding exercise machines that rub against your skin and shower immediately after a training session.

Stress is also a major risk factor for acne. It is important to deal with stress when fighting acne by avoiding any stress related factors in your life. If you find it hard to fight stress on your own, it would not hurt to seek the assistance of a professional.
