In some cases, photographers that own the rights to their work may have a website where anyone can buy a copy of an image.

Artists and photographers that are looking to build a following may use art shows to show off their wares. Themed shows are ideal for showcasing those of African American heritage. Seeing the artwork in person first is a great way to market before visiting their website or online art gallery.

Pictures of African American, entertainers and other noted figures who are deceased are especially popular with those who love to collect. Often these are rare finds but for the enthusiast, very much worth the time it takes to find a good image that is affordable.
