Arab turban is simply a head wear worn by many Middle Eastern or Arab men. It is basically a piece of clothe winded in a particular shape and it is regarded as customary head wear in many Middle East countries. These head wraps worn by men are also known by many other different names like imamah or dastar.

White and black are the two main colors that you will find when it comes to Arab turban. Some men are determined to follow their religious and cultural beliefs and they prefer not to wear vibrant colors. However you will sometimes find red or black checked scarves worn by Arabian people. Depending on the type of material and fabric these head coverings can range from being very cheap to extremely expensive.

You may find it hard to wear a turban in the beginning. But with the help of practice you get over it and find it quite easy to wear without wasting any time at all. It is best if you practice your skills beforehand on somebody else so that you are able to perfect your head wrapping skills.

The things you require to wear a head covering include a piece of clothe and hair pins and the technique to wearing it is extremely simple. The ideal fabric size would be 20 by 70 inches. The first step would be to hold the material diagonally in your hand and start rolling the longer side of it.

To keep fabric in place try holding one side of it either with your hand or teeth and start wrapping the long side starting from the top and ending behind your head. Repeat the same procedure while making sure the clothe is held diagonally so that it covers your head neatly. After finishing the first loop start the second loop and finish it on the top of your forehead.

If you want to create more ridges try twisting the material a bit more. Keeping in mind the thickness and thinness of ridges start twisting the fabric. The clothe should be twisted tightly especially when rolling from one side of the head to another. Continue forming ridges while you are folding the fabric on top of the head.

Your newly created ridges should always sit on top of the previous ones to give it a more symmetrical look. To secure your head gear it is recommended to use hair pins. Ideally six ridges are enough and once you are finish just tuck the end of the scarf inside just near your forehead. Once satisfied secure the end with hair pins do not use too many as only a few are required.

The other end that you were holding in between your teeth can be nicely tucked in at the back side of head. Use some more hair pins to secure the back side nicely. At last you will see a perfectly created Arab turban just in front of you.
