Significance Of The Islamic Turban In The Modern World

The traditional headgear worn by many people around the world are referred to as turbans. People of the Islamic faith also have their Islamic turban. It is worn to emulate Prophet Mohammed who was said to have worn a traditional black or a white turbans. These are representative of the entire population, of religion and also of their customs and practices.

They are made of a long piece of cloth, that is wound round the head in a stable fashion. They usually have specific dimensions and also it has a particular way in which to tie it. The color and kind of material may vary according to the user and may be tied in different fashions. It also showed the sect or tribe a person belonged to.

Turbans was the name given to the headgear worn by the women in most western countries. It is less prevalent now than it was in the beginning of the century. These had a foundation that would form the base for the turbans. These caps were sewn on to it and so one could wear it easily and also remove it very easily. This means they need not be tied and untied every time the wearer needs to put it on.

The hats worn by the peoples hailing from the wider Asian region would be tied each morning. For most part of all the Arabian Peninsula a checkered scarf is worn by the persons. This is referred to as the keffiyeh. Though it is strictly not a headgear this serves to give protection to the wearer. Different people have a different significance for the turbans.

These headgear have terrific color and a lot style and people in the East especially those from Arabia and Asia have fantastic headgear. The use of those turbans is actually for protection from the harshness of nature, and to give protection against pollution. This also serves to identify the citizens according to their customs and religion.

All kinds of turbans are present and they vary from region to region. The people of a region will give a different name to their headgear according to the way they want. If the people are from the same region they will have the same name for it. On the festival days the people will come out to dance and play in their turbans as a mark of their respect.

It is seen that fashion follows the cloth wear in the purpose and design. They follow the trends in fashion which are made to the latest requirements of all the citizens. The persons get a lot of protection just as the head wear that is worn gives protection mainly from dust or the sun. The color gives the person a touch of style that makes a good impression on onlookers.

This Islamic turban is referred to as the Sunnah Mu'akkadah which means confirmed tradition. People wear it more for the honor and traditions than for making any fashion statements. It is true in its identity and gives the wearer a distinctive appearance. It is typical of all the traditional clothes worn the world over.
