Tips On How You Can Make Turbans For Women

By Sue Carpenter

Turbans for women can be a great addition to their general outlook, and is indeed very good for those who are undergoing cancer treatment. This is because, due to chemotherapy, ladies will tend to lose their hair. There are also times when a woman could have bad hair and she does not have the time to have it made. Although it only takes a few minutes to make, it can be a nice outfit pop.

However, it is important to be careful in your choice of fabric. Normally, a coarser fabric will be much better than a fine one because it can hold the turban better. For bandanas worn for special events, adding some feathers and brooches can be very creative. The following steps can guide you in how to quickly wrap a bandana.

Firstly, you have to choose an appropriate fabric. To have a fabric that holds the shape of your turban well, you should avoid soft silky fabrics. You want coarser fabrics like cotton. Also, it is advisable to select a piece of cloth with no clear side. This is to avoid the underside showing when wrapped. On the fabric, cut a square measuring 36 inches.

Hemming of the fabric is then done and this is by turning it over a quarter of an inch. This is followed by another turning over. Sewing it along the edges is your next step.

The fabric is then bunched up and the turban held in both of hands. At the back of your head, tie one knot at the back of head. With the edge of the material safely held, the bandana is pulled over the head at its top part.

Next is turning both the ends of that particular cloth. The ends are then brought to the forehead, whereupon they will overlap. Again, the ends are taken round the back of the head. Using both ends, another loop should be tied. Make sure that all loose ends are tucked in.

Turbans are not just great for complementing outfits but can come in handy especially during the winter period. They are unlike winter cap as they can combine both utility and fashion. With the winter cap, you have to take it out on e you reach your destination. However, with winter turbans, you can leave it on and let it be part of your fashion-forward.

The goodness with these turbans is that they come in great varieties. Whether you want one to wear at daytime or evenings or just for a casual stroll, you will readily find a fitting one. For evening purposes, you want something that is made of casual fabric like denim, cotton and lycra blend. Night events require materials such as satin.

To bring out the best in you, you may have to pair your turban with flared jeans and a vintage coat. For a more boho look, have a long maxi dress. For evening, consider wearing trousers with wide legs with cropped fur coat or jacket. Take opportunity of great turbans for women to add a sense of style to your outfit. Moreover, they are available in huge varieties.
