Be sure that you use your allergy medication correctly and according to directions. Many of these types of medications require you to use them for several days or even weeks to take effect. Don't expect to pop a pill when you start sneezing. Be sure to talk to a doctor about the correct usage of your medicine with your physician.

Avoid anything with a colorant because your allergies could flare up. Even your toilet tissue could be a problem if you use a brand that has dyes in it. Try using products that are plain white paper to see if it helps.

People can be allergic to different things at different points in their lives.As a child grows up, they gain exposure to other protein allergens, perhaps even developing pollen allergies. If you see your children displaying allergy symptoms in response to sports or pollen, you shouldn't rule out an allergic reactions just because they haven't had one before.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies and you've been outdoors, change into other clothes and get into the shower after you arrive home. If you fail to do this, chances are you will bring traces of allergens into your home, and make things worse for you.

Ask your physician for a sample packs or purchase the smallest size available. If that product doesn't help your allergic symptoms, that doesn't mean that none of them will.
